Walter de Mesnil, Templar Hitman (Left)
Described by Steve Tibble as โthe closest thing the Templars had to a contract killerโ and by a chronicler as โan evil one-eyed, totally worthless man,โ de Mesnil was the Orderโs go-to enforcer. In 1170, he led a brutal attack on Assassin ambassadors that nearly triggered civil war, earning praise from Templar Master Odo de Saint-Amand but the fury of King Amalric of Jerusalem and the Old Man of the Mountain. His fate after the incident is unknown, leaving his story open for legend or tabletop invention.

Gilbert de Lacy, Templar Commander (Right)
The son of Roger de Lacy was a wealthy English patron who donated major estates to the Templars before joining their ranks after 1157. Rising swiftly, he became a senior figure by 1160 and later commander in the County of Tripoli, where he crushed Nur al-Dinโs forces at La Boquea in 1163. Praised by William of Tyre as โa nobleman of high rank and an experienced warrior,โ de Lacy embodies the ideal Templar leader – devout, skilled, and formidable in battle.
