Warcradle Studios has created a second edition of these Steampunk / Weird Wild West rules. As part of the re-launch, they have produced a starter set entitled Gunfight at Red Oak. The boxed set comes with everything you need to play, including self-assembly plastic models that are around 32mm in size, representing parts of the Lawmen and Outlaws factions.
The first thing out of the box is an A5 sized rulebook, consisting of 119 pages. The actual rules to play the game are contained in the first 52 pages, including a number of scenarios. After that, there is a wealth of material about the setting and the different factions in this radically different vision of the post-ACW USA.

The plastic miniatures are on a number of frames, requiring some assembly to create four characters and support elements. There are no assembly instructions in the box but the figures seem fairly easy to assemble, with some basic posing options. There are suitable bases in the box to cover the characters, supporting robotic beasts and the two vehicles.

All the required cards containing game data for the figures, plus the 48 Action and 60 Adventure card decks, are all included. These are printed on high quality card stock and are simple to use, working to negate the need to keep referring to the rulebook.
The last elements in the box are the themed D10 dice, a hard plastic template for use with various weapons and abilities. There is also an 8” ruler in heavy cardstock and 30 punch out tokens in the same material used to show the current condition of the characters.
All in all, this is a hefty box that provides all you need to get involved in the game. The quality of the product is high, and the eclectic background to the game provides a mass of different gaming backgrounds.
