Vive la revolution! Like many of the great episodes of world history, revolutions give us wargamers the opportunity to try our hand at gaming and simulating events which most of us have never been a part of and frankly would never want to be. The French Revolution, American Revolution and Russian Revolution – all bloody affairs which are covered in the pages of this issue of Wargames Illustrated as part of our theme. All crying out for tabletop representation, to both further our understanding of the events and have interactive fun whilst doing so.
Our revolutionary theme has provided us with a great opportunity to illustrate wargames at their most colourful and dramatic, from our front cover artwork (thanks to new, regular, cover illustrator Neil Roberts) to our photos of some superb revolutionary wars figure collections. If you are viewing this magazine in its ‘traditional’ paper format, you are going to see some great looking glossy photos of figures and games, and if you are swiping through our Interactive issue on your iPad, you get to see about three times as many photos as we can fit in print.
Onwards to liberty…!
Happy reading, and gaming.
