The latest issue of wargames Illustrated is available now. Here’s what Dan Faulconbridge has to say in his editorial.
A new set of rules has the ability to give a real shot in the arm to a wargaming period, figures that have been gathering dust in a cupboard for years or old ranges which have become hidden on websites can be rediscovered and brought back to the light of the tabletop. Could the release of Test of Honour by Warlord Games give all things Samurai such a boost? Early indications are that it will, it has certainly given us a good excuse to frame this month’s theme around those famous warriors of Japan and contact many a Samurai gamer and figure manufacturer to supply us with content for this issue.
If you have been caught by the Samurai bug you will find some interesting and useful information in this month’s magazine in the form of painting guides, scenarios, history, army organization, rules and figure information. If you rail against the latest fad in gaming or simply seek your tabletop kicks elsewhere, you will be entertained by making simple gaming boards for Frostgrave, collecting for the Indian Mutiny, battling in Burma, gunfighting in a ‘cursed’ Wild West and more!
Happy reading, and gaming.
