These two new releases from Victrix Limited, Numidian Cavalry and Iberian Cavalry, are up to the usual high standards. Victrix was one of the first pioneers when it came to digitally designed plastic wargames miniatures, which shows in the continued improvement of the creation and moulding process.
Both sets consist of 12 mounted figures and the riders come with separate heads to allow for multiple variants of head pose. The sets also come with weapon and shield options to allow a number of units to be created.
The Iberian set is a great representation of the subject matter and uses some of the latest research to bring these warriors to the tabletop in all their glory. Skirmishers and more tightly ranked units may be created.
The Numidians set is the more flexible of the two, in that the same figures can be used for a variety of periods. Although intended to be used in Ancient era games, the same figures could just as equally serve in the Crusades or even down into the 19th Century in the Sudan. Head swaps, weapon changes and a little creativity with the green stuff can help in this regard.
Overall, the two sets are a welcome addition to the Victrix range and the quality of these multipose miniatures bodes well for the upcoming Imperial Romans. Reset assured, we intend to keep up to date with the latest releases and look forward to seeing the next lot of releases.
