Victrix have established a well-deserved reputation for producing some of the very best multi-pose plastic miniatures on the market. One of their latest sets covers Germanic Warriors from the Ancient era, approximately 100BC – 200AD, but also shows another step forward in how to produce top quality plastic figures.
This set contains 60 exceptionally detailed 28mm hard plastic Germanic Warriors, as well as numerous additional parts which allow you to pick and choose different combinations when building your figures. These include a host of weaponry, cloaks, two command frames with armoured nobles, some excellent heads and bodies with Roman armour and helmets, and even ponytails which may be added to some of the warriors’ heads! (Note: not a ‘man bun’ in sight).
There are 6 repeated frames of Warriors and 2 frames of Command / Nobles in total. The basic poses of the figures are excellent, really dynamic, and, although the basic mix of the bodies is repeated, the options mean that no two figures will ever be exactly the same. More importantly, everything fits together ‘naturally’: unlike some plastics, you’d be hard pressed to create a stiff ‘toy soldier’ look and all the parts fit together incredibly well.

This is another tour de force from Victrix. I am ‘off’ multi-part plastics at the moment, but these figures are so good that my interest was re-kindled. A great example of what can be achieved, and another value pack that helps with army building.
