It’s time to muster your best looking figures for the annual Wargames Illustrated and Hammerhead Painting Competition!
You may have a single model or unit sitting pretty on your shelf, just waiting to be plucked out to win an award, perhaps you are painting something specifically – whatever the case, it’s time to try and win one of the fantastic trophies and the kudos that goes with it! We’re excited to see your entries at the 2022 Wargames Illustrated Painting Competition, held at Hammerhead in Newark, Notts.
The nine categories are:
Historical Single Miniature
A single figure, foot or mounted, for any historical period.
Historical Unit/War Machine
Any unit of three or more models (foot or mounted) or a single vehicle or war machine with crew, for any historical period.
Fantasy Single Miniature
A single figure, foot or mounted, for non-historical fantasy genres (including steampunk).
Fantasy Unit/War Machine
Any unit of three or more models or a single vehicle, or war machine with crew, for non-historical fantasy genres (including steampunk).
Sci-Fi Single Miniature
A single figure, foot or mounted, for non-historical sci-fi genres (including weird war and post-apocalyptic).
Sci-Fi Unit/War Machine
Any unit of three or more models or a single vehicle or a war machine with crew, for non-historical sci-fi genres (including weird war and post-apocalyptic).
Youth Category
A single figure, foot or mounted, any period or genre – for painters 16 and younger.
Open Category
Any model, vignette, or diorama of any scale, up to 8” x 8” x 8”, for any period or genre.
Kallistra (Historical or Fantasy)
Any unit of 12mm figures manufactured by Kallistra (the hosts of Hammerhead).
