Updated 12 January 2020
The postal service in the UK is experiencing significant delays, particularly regarding mail going overseas.
As you will be aware all post is regularly delayed around Christmas and New Year due to increased demand. However, this year the Coronavirus pandemic, Brexit and ‘lockdown’ is causing further delays. In particular, Royal Mail (and all other postal services) announced that because UK borders were closed – due to a new strain of Covid 19 – between 22 – 23 December mail leaving the UK to Europe (other than Ireland) was further delayed. They have also warned of significant delays to Canada and Turkey.
With a UK/EU trade deal now in place, we are hoping that Brexit will not cause further postal disruption – but there was already a backlog at UK ports.
All subscriber copies of the latest magazine, Wi397 January, were dispatched on 21 December. It is highly likely these copies will be delayed in transit. We therefore must ask that subscribers allow the legally obliged 28 days for delivery.
News just in from The USA: We have heard from one of our US subscribers that he received his magazine on the 11th Jan 2020. So that’s 22 days for delivery.
News in from Belgium: We have heard from one of our Belgian subscribers that he received his magazine on the 7th Jan 2020. So that’s 18 days for delivery.
All other orders (including WiPrime member freebie frames) which had been received up to 4 January 2021 were dispatched on 4th January at the latest. We must ask that you allow the legally obliged 28 days for delivery.
Orders received after 4 January are being dealt with as quickly as possible. However our customer service team (hello Ian!) who deal with orders and ‘help’ emails/messages are dealing with a high number of enquires which is slowing the process down further. Most of this enquiries relate to “I have not yet received my order!”. If you could bear with us and extend as much patience as possible, based on the fact that we are operating under very trying conditions, that would help immensely.
Many apologies for the inconvenience caused, we hope you will appreciate that these conditions are out of our hands and bear with us during these unprecedented times.
