We have two very exciting free frames coming to Wargames Illustrated 424 from Warlord Games’ new Pike & Shotte Epic Battles range!
We’ve given away free frames from Warlord’s previous Epic offerings (the American Civil War and Napoleonic Battles) and we’re pleased as punch to announce that we’ll also have Pike and Shotte frames free with Wargames Illustrated Wi424. That’s our April issue, on shelves at the start of that month.
The magazine will come with either the pike-prickled infantry frame or the options-aplenty cavalry frame. The issue will include a painting guide for the figures and some behind-the-scenes information on the range from the folks at Warlord HQ too.
We’ve had some of these pristine plastics in the Wargames Illustrated office for a while and we’re very happy that we can finally talk about them. They’re fantastically detailed and, thanks to the one-part plastics present on the frame, they’re convenient to get onto the tabletop at pace; the pikes come firmly attached to the ranks of men so you just need to push each clump of soldiers into a base and you’re good to go!
This is sure to be a popular issue so get yourself ready to rush to the store, ask your friendly local wargaming shop if they can put an issue aside for you, or how about taking out a Wargames Illustrated subscription to ensure you never miss an issue or a freebie?
- The cavalry frame is a true taster of what this period has to offer: harquebusiers, cuirassiers, cornets, mounted dragoons, dismounted dragoons, commanded shotte, Saker medium guns, Falconet light guns, mounted battalia commanders and ensigns on foot!
- The infantry frame is split between pikemen and musketeers and includes front-rank pikemen with their 16-foot weapons at ‘porte’, backed by their fellows with shouldered arms and a command stand with captain, drummer, and flag-waving ensigns.
