WI staff member Jamie has compiled a crew for Osprey’s Ghost Archipelago. We asked him to tell you a bit about it.
“I decided to theme my Ghost Archipelago crew around what originally introduced me to the fantasy genre, and then onto fantasy gaming, the popular computer game World of Warcraft.”
“That didn’t mean I created a crew consisting of a bunch of shiny elves or burly orcs, but more along the playing style of my first character, a dual weapon-wielding hunter, because, let’s face it, shields are for wimps.”
“My crew is well equipped with bows, axes, swords and maces for when the bloodlust takes over. I added a ‘Beast’ Warden for backup as you can’t have a hunter theme and not have some trusty animal companions.”
“They are dressed primarily in dark clothing and, as I’m rather fond of tattoos, so I’ve incorporated this by adding small tattoos on the knuckles of each of the figures, one for each kill.”
“As far as actual gameplay goes, most of this means nothing, but I think it’s important to theme a project like this around something you’re passionate about. Of course, being a primarily sword weilding melee group may result in them being massacred on the tabletop but they’ll look damn good as they go down swinging!”
