Dragonfrog Games is a company based on Shetland Island off the Scottish mainland. They have a range of buildings produced in MDF that are well worth looking at. Here we have 20 and 28mm sized Asian Shop Houses designed to be used on any table with a Far East setting.
Available as single or bundle deals, these are typical of the style of shop seen in China, Japan and elsewhere from the 18th Century right down to the modern day. Many have a shop area downstairs or in front, and then live in the rest of the building.
The kits themselves are simple to assemble, and most come with lift-off roofs and removable upper stories where appropriate. This means you can add internal elements and / or place figures inside. They are fairly basic in one sense but can easily be customized with a suitable colour scheme, scenic elements and similar approaches. They are also pretty robust, which is proven by the fact that the two assembled building shown were actually posted to us via Royal Mail from the Island!
Even better, you can buy the same building to match with 20 and 28mm figures, and the website also has more of the same style in 15mm.
These are just some of the products available from this small company. Other MDF kits include fantasy subjects, such as a Dwarven Taverns, Castle Walls, Orc Shacks and Elven Shrines. They also offer plastic figures from larger companies, catering for the various Isles and the coast of Northern Scotland. Some great kits that other companies don’t offer, at a price that won’t break the bank.
