Hammerhead 2016, Saturday 5th March
It seems like this unique show is going from strength to strength. I think it is fair to say that ‘a good time was had by all’ who attended Europe’s only (correct us if we are wrong!) participation only wargames show.
There were 55 games dotted around the George Stephenson Hall at the Newark Showground in Notts, England – a pleasant, well lit environment – entirely suited to a day of gaming. Many of the big names in the historical hobby were in attendance; Warlord Games, Mantic, North Star and Gripping Beast, running participation games, and there were a plethora of clubs and individuals as well, all welcoming the gaming public and inviting them to join in.
The photos below will hopefully give you a good idea of the games that were on display, as well as the popularity of the Tabletop Sale – at with individuals could hire a one-hour slot to sell their wares.
Congratulations to the winners of the three awards; Shaun of The bunker with Oldhammer for ‘Best Visual’, Hysterical Games with Operation Grunewuste for ‘Best Constructed’ and the South London Warlords with Stingray for ‘Best in Show’.
