This box contains enough parts to construct three artillery pieces and comes with the option of 6 or 12 pounder gun barrels. There are fifteen multipose crew figures provided for the guns but, in a nice touch, these come with a choice of bicornes, uncovered shakos, covered shakos and epaulettes and bearskins for the Imperial Guard. In this way, you can create a unit from 1804 to 1806 or reflect the issue of equipment from 1806 up until 1812. A great example of what is possible when a company thinks about the possibilities of plastic figures at the planning stage.
PROS: All the figures are well moulded and the fit of the parts is excellent. The wealth of support for assembly inside and outside the box (leaflets, box photographs, etc.) puts some other companies to shame.
CONS: With so many options, assembly can be a little hard, especially when it comes to the Imperial Guard epaulettes.
SCOPE: These figures are, as suggested in the box title, suitable for the period 1804 to 1812. With the right paintjob, they can see service with the French and allied forces throughout the period.
