Known for the excellence of their Wild West range, Knuckleduster Miniatures have added a touch of the ‘Weird’ to the Wildness with some recent releases.
The ‘Orc Amigos’ blister consists of three tough looking Western types, whom just happen to be Orcs in the classic fantasy style. One wears a long coat and wide brimmed hat, armed with a VERY large caliber revolver and a wicked looking blade. The second has a waistcoat, Stetson, with a revolver held loft and what looks like a thick piece of metal worn over his chest. The last wears a sombrero and poncho, in the act of fanning the action of another large revolver with a vicious looking blade stuck through its belt.

These are nicely done Wild West miniatures with a sense of fun, just what any Weird West game needs. The high level of sculpting expected from Knuckleduster is here, with some great details such as spurs, leather work on the chaps and rivets on the metal plate. But by creating these as Orcs, Knuckleduster has managed to create a whole sub-genre of the Weird Wild West which deserves further exploration. There is already a single Dwarf character, suggesting their may be more to come – it would be interesting to see Elves, Ogres, Trolls and more of the classic fantasy tropes in a similar vein, just for the opportunity to add more to some of the rulesets on the market.

Top quality sculpts, with an interesting and unique take on the Weird West genre, it’s always good to see a Knuckleduster Miniature and a bit of innovation in a fairly crowded market.
