War Banner / Footsore Miniatures have a growing collection of miniatures for their Warring Clans range, designed for the Shogun Wars period of Japanese history.
These miniatures are sculpted in various poses and are either available singularly in Samurai armour, with or without back banners, or as Ronin. There are also packs of three Ashigaru to build up units.
The figures are armed with a variety of weaponry, from the obvious katanas, bows and naginatas to the more obscure, like the kanabo, the spiked mace used by Samurai.

These are very well sculpted miniatures with excellent attention to detail. The clothing and armour adorns the figures rather than looking like it was simply sculpted on. The characterization in the faces and poses of some of the miniatures is also of a high standard and the level of research that has gone into every aspect is obvious.

These are just some of the miniatures from the beginning of a great range of figures that set new standards for Japanese warriors. The quality shown here suggests that this is a company to watch if one is thinking of investing in a Samurai army..
