Elladan are a Germany figure and terrain manufacturer, amongst their offerings they produce a great range of Dark Age, Medieval, World War Two and Modern buildings . One of their most recent releases is this excellent Dark Age Living Hall, which arrives as a kit in a large box.
The kit itself is produced in a flexible but sturdy resin. You receive all the walls, roofs and end wall pieces to make an impressive looking model, which scales well with 28mm miniatures.
The attention to detail is excellent, with resin cast rough hewn logs, roof supports and textured walls just begging to be painted. The kit also comes with a large, resin base to house your living hall, which again, is very nicely detailed.
In amongst all that resin, are several pieces of synthetic fur, which is intended for use as thatched roofing material. It would probably need some liberal use of paint and PVA or White Glue to take away the fundamental ‘skinned teddy bear’ look. but, as can be seen in the photographs, can look pretty effective.
Overall, this is an easy to assemble kit, with some excellent features, and the type of detail you don’t always get from ‘rival’ MDF offerings. This is a company working at the top end of sculpting in resin, setting a standard that others often struggle to follow.
A fantastic piece of work and just one of the many products on offer from this dynamic company.
