There are so many companies out there producing miniatures that it’s difficult to connect with all of them. After meeting up at Colours with the very helpful staff of Parkfield Miniatures, we thought we’d share some of the ranges they stock.
The company covers whole swathes of history and produces miniatures in two sizes, the more ‘traditional’ 25mm and the more ‘contemporary’ 28mm. In 25s, their ranges include: the French Indian Wars, the Italian Wars 1494 – 1544, The Glorious Revolution, Colonial Era Sudan and Napoleonics with Napoleon in Egypt and the Peninsular War.

In 28s, they have the Taiping Rebellion, Second World War, Vietnam, Age of Arthur and a fairly comprehensive range of figures for the South American Wars of Liberation.
All of these miniatures are well sculpted and simply need the right sort of painting and basing to really make them stand out. The South American Wars of Liberation range is particularly interesting, especially as we haven’t really come across such a diverse range of miniatures for this little known period before. The company also stocks Liberators!, a set of rules for games in the period, which also comes with background details.
With such a variety of ranges across two figure scales, Parkfield is one of those small manufacturers which are able to offer both the standard ‘bread and butter’ miniatures and something unique that larger companies avoid. Ours is a hobby built upon these types of companies and they deserve as much recognition as those which are more well known.
