Kallistra have added more packs to their 12mm Wars of the Roses range, just one part of the Hordes and Heroes Historical Minatures on offer. The company aims to offer suitably ‘generic’ troops which may be used for both sides.
The packs sent for review are Dismounted Men At Arms, Retinue Longbows and Retinue Billmen. Each pack has 32 single figures and 4 plastic bases, allowing for some variety when creating units.
The level of sculpting on the figures is very good, with some nice posing and attention to detail on armour and clothing. These may be ‘rank and file’ warriors, but have been given the same level of attention as the personality figures.
Kallistra is a company which covers the whole gamut of history and embraces the realms of fantasy and sci-fi to boot. A visit to their website guarantees that you’ll see a figure range you like, and probably a set of rules to use them with as well.
