Available from Caliver Books, this range of resin buildings was initially based upon the old PMC ones but continues to grow under the auspices of Caliver Books. These pieces from the ‘Arab Buildings’ sub-range provide plenty of options.
This particular building is entitled ‘Large Arab Building’ on the Caliver website. It has optional roofs, allowing for the use of a dome or a flat roof, which may be supplied randomly or requested as desired. Other parts may also be purchased so one can add an exterior staircase, a store room with a tiled roof and a well.
The building itself could be called ‘distressed’, with areas of exposed brickwork. The wooden door and shutters have been modeled as firmly shut. The texture of the pieces allows for some use of suitable paint colours and techniques such as drybrushing and washes.
This and other buildings make up just one part of a whole range which covers all of history and beyond. In addition, many of the buildings are available in 6, 15 and 28mm sizes, all with options and add ons. They have the ‘heft’ of resin, along with the option to buy them pre-painted, saving time from order to tabletop.
