Renedra are the ‘go to’ experts in the UK and Europe if you want high quality plastic moulding. They also produce some great products of their own, as shown by these Stone and Thatch and Wattle / Timber Out Buildings.
Suitable for both Dark Ages and Medieval gaming, these are up to the usual high standards that Renedra set for themselves and others. If you haven’t come across the company before, its perhaps best to describe them as producing products with the detail and precision of the top end resin companies, coupled with the ease of construction and adaptation of the very best MDF based businesses. These kits are light, durable and easy to assemble, whilst looking very effective on the tabletop with even the most minimal of paintjobs.
The Wattle / Timber Out Building is great, with some nicely done wood and thatch walled details. One of the best aspects of the Renedra plastic buildings is that they are not ‘perfect’ – there is evidence of poor wattle work, gaps in the timber and walls. This is a ‘used’ building rather than a museum piece, always a seller to me.
The Stone and Thatch Out Building looks solid, a real ‘chunk’ of a building which looks like it could be made out of stone! Again, this is a lived in building, perhaps offering more defensive options that the other but not great to hide in long term.
Renedra always offer their best to the gamer, and have a design team that understands what the gamer wants. Personally, I’d like to see a move towards more modern periods, such as 1920’ s and ‘30’s America or even right up to date, but these are great kits for those with an interest in populating their Dark Age or Medieval battlefields.
