Hobby University UK is back! – The ultimate ‘make and take away’ sessions, with donations from top manufacturers like the Perry’s, Victrix, Warlord Games and Mantic.
Turn up, choose one of the plastic items on offer and get taught a few ‘tricks and tips’ on painting and modelling. You’ll have the chance to put together figures and models during a particular session, plus take away a sample of some of the latest and best miniatures on the market.
10:00 – 11:30 Fur, Faces and Trim. Using Victrix Romans (Maximum 6 people)
“The devil is in the detail.”
Come along and have a tutorial about painting the details on a Roman Legionnaire, using simple effective methods to really make your models stand out on the battlefield. All materials, models and paints supplied, take away your model, a little extra and a prize is up for grabs for the most extravagant details.
12:00 – 14:00 Army Painting, dirty, quick and effective. Using Plastic Modern Soldiers from Warlord Games (Maximum 6 people)
“Sir, we need reinforcements now!”
Painted armies work better on the tabletop, it’s a known fact in wargaming, the fickle dice gods prefer painted models. Come along and learn some techniques, methods and strategies to get your models from base coated to full battle readiness in quick time. Paint a fire team, then take them away with you, plus a little extra – a prize for the best painted squad!
12:00 – 14:00 Terrain building competition, using Mantic plastics (Maximum 6 people)
“Knowledge of the terrain is key to success.”
Painted armies are great, but what makes a game really interesting is the terrain you are fighting over. We have a big box of Mantic games terrain. Come along, get the clippers out and get building. Take the piece you make away with you and have the chance to win a prize for the best piece as judged by Ronnie Renton.
14:00 – 15:00 Painting Medieval Armour- Using Perry Plastics (Maximum 6 people)
“Medieval period gaming needs knights in shining armour.”
Metallics can be daunting for new painters, so why not come along and pick up a few tips for painting metallic amour. From the brightest gold, to well worn steel. Paint your knight, take him home with you. The most flamboyant knight gets to take home the prize. (Is it a fair maiden’s heart or (more likely) some figures?)
